Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav chaired the weekly time-limit meeting at the Collectorate conference hall on Tuesday, undertaking a comprehensive review of the progress of various government welfare schemes. He issued clear instructions to all departments to ensure that the benefits of public welfare programmes reach genuine and eligible beneficiaries without exception.

The Collector emphasised that welfare schemes launched by the government are meant for the poor, the needy and the common citizens, and their objectives will be fulfilled only when departments take proactive responsibility at the ground level. He directed officials to strengthen publicity and awareness efforts so that no eligible individual remains deprived of benefits. “All officers will be personally accountable for effective implementation,” he said.

During the meeting, preparations for Republic Day celebrations were reviewed in detail. Responsibilities related to tableaux, cultural programmes and other arrangements were assigned to concerned officials to ensure smooth and dignified celebrations.

Highlighting the importance of the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the Collector instructed officials to carry out extensive publicity, organise ‘Surya Sabhas’, and promote installation of solar panels in residential colonies.

He also reviewed arrangements for the free cancer screening and counselling camp being organised under the Suraksha Chakra initiative at the Government Medical College, Pendri, Rajnandgaon, which will continue till January 25, 2026. Officials were directed to make systematic preparations for the concluding programme. In addition, special camps were ordered to be organised for issuing Ayushman cards to remaining eligible beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

The Collector stressed the importance of education, advising that every child should have a dedicated study corner at home to help inculcate regular study habits. He underlined that benefits of schemes related to education, health, nutrition and social welfare must be clearly visible at the grassroots level.

On the occasion, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ms Suruchi Singh highlighted the need for continuous health monitoring of high-risk pregnant women identified through Palak Chaupal and for focused attention on children’s health through Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres.

The meeting was attended by Divisional Forest Officer Shri Ayush Jain, Additional Collector Shri C.L. Markandey, Additional Collector Shri Prem Prakash Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma and other senior officials. All SDMs and Tehsildars joined the meeting through video conferencing.
