Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure has directed the health department to remain on high alert in response to the possible spread of COVID-19 in the district. Addressing concerns about rising infections, he has instructed all government and private hospitals to ensure that critical resources such as ICU beds, oxygen support, ventilators, and COVID-19 management protocols are fully prepared and in place.

To maintain effective disease surveillance, the Collector emphasized regular reporting on the IHIP portal by all health workers. Government medical institutions and AIIMS have also been designated for confirmatory testing and treatment of COVID-19 cases.
The District Health Department has issued precautionary guidelines advising individuals suffering from cold, cough, and fever—particularly those with comorbidities—to wear masks, avoid crowded places, and seek immediate medical attention at nearby government health centers. Households with symptomatic individuals are encouraged to keep their homes well-ventilated and maintain physical distancing. Residents have also been reminded to follow COVID-appropriate behavior including frequent handwashing and not to panic.
Collector Dr. Bhure also appealed to citizens to cooperate with local health authorities and take preventive actions seriously to avoid any possible outbreak.
