In a bid to ensure quality healthcare services and effective governance, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai conducted an unannounced inspection of the Government District Hospital in Mahasamund on Friday. The visit, part of the ongoing Sushasan Tihar 2025 initiative, aimed to assess the state of healthcare infrastructure and patient care in the district.

Accompanied by Mahasamund MP Rupkumari Choudhary, local MLA Yogeshwar Raju Sinha, and other party officials, CM Sai arrived at the hospital and took a comprehensive tour of its facilities. He inspected various wards, interacted with patients, and inquired about the availability of medical services, staff attendance, and overall hospital management. Notably, the Chief Minister visited the male ward, where he personally spoke with patient Ganga Ram to understand his treatment experience and the hospital’s response to his needs.

During the inspection, CM Sai reviewed the hospital’s cleanliness, availability of essential medicines, and operational status of medical equipment. He also engaged with doctors and healthcare staff, emphasizing the state government’s commitment to improving healthcare access across Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister directed hospital authorities to address any shortcomings immediately and ensure that patients receive timely and quality care.
The surprise visit underscores the Vishnu Deo Sai administration’s focus on grassroots governance and accountability. Sushasan Tihar, now in its third phase, is a statewide campaign to evaluate and enhance public services, with healthcare being a key priority. The Chief Minister’s hands-on approach has been lauded by local leaders, who see it as a step toward strengthening public trust in government institutions.
“Chief Minister Sai’s visit reflects his dedication to ensuring that every citizen of Chhattisgarh has access to quality healthcare. His direct interaction with patients and staff sends a strong message about accountable governance,” said MLA Yogeshwar Raju Sinha.
The Mahasamund District Hospital, a critical healthcare facility for the region, serves thousands of patients from surrounding areas. The CM’s inspection is expected to lead to immediate action on any identified issues, with the administration likely to allocate resources to upgrade the hospital’s infrastructure.

This visit follows CM Sai’s recent efforts to bolster healthcare in the state, including the launch of a mobile cancer detection van in Jashpur last month, which provides free screening and treatment for cancer patients. The state government has also been actively working to address systemic challenges in healthcare delivery, particularly in rural and tribal areas.
As news of the visit spread, residents of Mahasamund expressed hope that the Chief Minister’s intervention would lead to tangible improvements in the hospital’s services. With Sushasan Tihar continuing to drive governance reforms, Chhattisgarh is witnessing a renewed focus on public welfare under CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership.
