District Tops in Ayushman Card Registration; Focus on School and Anganwadi Repairs and Monsoon Health Awareness

In a weekly time-limit meeting held at the Collectorate conference hall, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Panchayat Ms. Suruchi Singh emphasized the need to ensure maximum public benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana—an ambitious solar-powered scheme of the central government. She stated that the initiative is not only environmentally friendly but also economically beneficial by significantly reducing electricity bills for citizens.
Ms. Singh directed the Electricity Department to actively disseminate information about the scheme to the general public. She also reviewed the implementation of the Kisan Credit Card scheme and instructed officials to resolve existing issues promptly.
Commending the Health Department, she congratulated the district for achieving the first position in the state for registration under both Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card programs. She encouraged the team to maintain and build on their performance.

The CEO further reviewed progress under the “Potth Laika” initiative and instructed that repair work for schools and Anganwadi centers be prioritized. She directed officials to avoid operating schools and Anganwadis in dilapidated buildings, especially during the rainy season, and to arrange for alternate locations where necessary. She also called for repair work at Primary and Community Health Centres and advised all departments to submit public welfare proposals under DMF (District Mineral Foundation) funding.
With the monsoon season underway, Ms. Singh stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and creating public awareness regarding the boiling of drinking water in both urban and rural areas to prevent waterborne diseases.
The CEO also sought updates on land revenue cases, the Swamitva Yojana (property records distribution), land partition cases, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, PM SHRI schools, and vaccination drives, among other government initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Additional Collectors Mr. C.L. Markandeya and Mr. Prem Prakash Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Mr. Atul Vishwakarma, SDM Rajnandgaon Mr. Khem Lal Verma, SDM Dongargarh Mr. Abhishek Tiwari, SDM Dongargaon Mr. Shrikant Koram, and other district officials.
