CM Pays Tribute to Iron Man on 150th Birth Anniversary; Lauds PM Modi’s Vision for a Stronger India

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the grand ‘Bharat Parv’ event held at Ekta Nagar in Kevadia, Gujarat, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Chief Minister paid heartfelt tributes to Sardar Patel, bowing in reverence at the iconic Statue of Unity and reflecting on the legendary leader’s unparalleled contributions to nation-building.
During the event, Chief Minister Sai highlighted Sardar Patel’s monumental role in unifying the country post-independence. “Just as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel integrated the princely states to create a united India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fulfilling his dreams by strengthening the nation in every sphere,” he stated. The CM emphasized that Sardar Patel’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ continues to inspire governance and development initiatives across the country.

The ‘Bharat Parv’ celebrations, organized amid the serene backdrop of the Statue of Unity, showcased India’s rich cultural diversity and unity. The event featured vibrant performances, exhibitions, and programs that celebrated the country’s heritage. Chief Minister Sai praised the initiative, noting that such platforms reinforce the bonds of national integration that Sardar Patel championed throughout his life.
In a heartwarming moment, the Chief Minister interacted with the cultural troupe from Chhattisgarh that had traveled to Kevadia to perform at the festival. He met the artists personally, inquired about their well-being, and extended his best wishes for their presentation. “Our artists are the true ambassadors of Chhattisgarh’s vibrant culture. Your performances here will showcase the state’s folk traditions to the entire nation,” CM Sai told the group. The troupe, comprising talented performers skilled in traditional dances and music forms unique to Chhattisgarh, expressed gratitude for the encouragement.

The Chief Minister’s visit underscored Chhattisgarh’s active participation in national events that promote unity and cultural exchange. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to preserving and promoting tribal and folk arts, aligning with the broader vision of a culturally resurgent India.
Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, observed as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, serves as a reminder of his tireless efforts in merging over 560 princely states into the Indian Union. The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue standing at 182 meters, symbolizes his enduring legacy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in conceptualizing and inaugurating this monumental tribute has further amplified Sardar Patel’s contributions on the global stage.
Chief Minister Sai’s presence at the event also highlighted the cooperative federalism fostered under the current central government.
