In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering rural women socially, economically, and within their families, the Panchayat and Rural Development Department of Chhattisgarh is set to launch the special radio programme “Didi Ke Goth” on August 31 at 12:15 PM.
The programme, prepared under the State Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan), will be broadcast simultaneously from All India Radio (AIR) Raipur and all AIR centers across the state, with live streaming also available on online platforms.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Rural Development Minister, and Deputy Chief Minister & Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Vijay Sharma will convey their special messages and motivational wishes to rural women.
The prime objective of Didi Ke Goth is to connect women from rural areas with government schemes, provide them opportunities for self-employment, and guide them toward self-reliance and independence. The programme will highlight inspiring stories of women from self-help groups who overcame challenges and built new identities through their hard work, confidence, and participation in the Bihan scheme. Today, lakhs of women in Chhattisgarh have become “Lakhpati Didis,” transforming their lives positively.

To maximize its impact, arrangements are being made for community listening sessions at the panchayat, village organization, and cluster levels. These sessions will involve public representatives, administrative officials, local communities, and self-help group women, fostering dialogue, discussion, and collective motivation.
Officials noted that Didi Ke Goth is not just a radio programme but a reflection of the state government’s vision of good governance, aiming to amplify women’s voices, celebrate their struggles and achievements, and connect them directly with welfare schemes for positive social transformation.
