The Chhattisgarh Labour Welfare Board continues to extend a lifeline to industrial and factory workers through its 14 welfare schemes. In a recent instance of timely intervention, the board provided ₹3 lakh in aid to Prakash Tandon, a labourer from Bithiya village under Tilda Janpad Panchayat in Raipur district, who has been diagnosed with silicosis – a life-threatening occupational disease.

Responding swiftly, Board Chairman Yogeshdutt Mishra and Commissioner Ajitesh Pandey ensured immediate processing of the case. Chairman Mishra personally visited the village to hand over the cheque at a community gathering held at the Panchayat Bhavan, in the presence of local representatives including Sarpanch Dushyant Sahu.z
In his address, Mishra reaffirmed the board’s commitment to improving the lives of workers through comprehensive schemes covering healthcare, education, and financial assistance. He expressed hopes for Tandon’s recovery and strength to fight the illness. Several villagers and board officials, including Vivek Dubey, Kisrod Raut, and Narendra Sinha, were also present during the event.
