Raipur buzzed with economic optimism on September 25, 2025, as Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the ‘Investor Connect’ summit, positioning Chhattisgarh as India’s next manufacturing powerhouse. The event, attended by over 200 industrialists from sectors like steel, cement, and renewables, spotlighted the state’s revamped Single Window Clearance System 2.0, slashing project approvals from months to mere days via a one-click portal.
In his keynote address at the Mana Bay Convention Centre, Sai highlighted Chhattisgarh’s mineral-rich bounty—boasting 20% of India’s iron ore and coal reserves—and pledged ₹10,000 crore in incentives, including 45% subsidies for eco-tourism in Bastar and land banks for plug-and-play factories. “From Naxal shadows to investment sunshine, Chhattisgarh is open for business,” Sai declared, announcing MoUs worth ₹5,500 crore with firms like JSW Steel and Tata Power for green energy projects expected to create 50,000 jobs.

The summit featured panel discussions on GST reforms’ ripple effects, with Deputy CM Arun Sao emphasizing startup grants up to ₹50 lakh for tribal entrepreneurs. International delegates from Japan and South Korea expressed interest in food processing ventures, drawn by the state’s upgraded infrastructure, including the expanded Naya Raipur airport. “Our vision is Atmanirbhar Chhattisgarh—self-reliant, sustainable, and soaring,” said Commerce Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan, unveiling a digital dashboard for real-time investment tracking.
This follows the state’s record ₹1.2 lakh crore investment haul in 2024, fueled by post-election stability. Critics, including opposition Congress, question implementation amid rural distress, but early wins—like a new lithium battery plant in Korba—signal momentum. As Chhattisgarh marks its 25th year, the summit underscores a shift from agrarian roots to industrial aspirations, promising inclusive growth for its 3 crore residents.
