Sachin Singh Baghel, Chairman of the District Cooperative Central Bank Maryadit, Rajnandgaon, welcomed the Chhattisgarh Budget 2026–27, describing it as a visionary financial roadmap that will energise the cooperative sector, empower farmers, and strengthen the rural economy. He said the budget presented in the state assembly by Finance Minister O. P. Choudhary under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai would prove highly beneficial for farmers and rural regions.
Baghel stated that provisions related to agriculture, irrigation, rural infrastructure, and strengthening cooperative institutions would enhance the efficiency of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and district cooperative banks. This, he said, would ensure timely availability of crop loans, short-term and medium-term credit, and financial support for agricultural investments.
Strengthening the Cooperative Sector
He highlighted that the budget places special emphasis on modernisation, digitisation, and transparency in cooperative institutions, which would make banking services more accessible and effective at the grassroots level.

Accessible Credit and Financial Security for Farmers
According to Baghel, provisions for agricultural loan distribution, interest subsidy schemes, and strengthening of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) procurement system would bring income stability to farmers. Cooperative banks, he added, would continue to act as a financial bridge for the farming community.
Boost to Rural Economy
Expansion of roads, irrigation facilities, and storage infrastructure would improve agricultural marketing and accelerate economic activities in rural areas, he said.
Towards Self-Reliant Rural Systems
Baghel noted that strengthening the cooperative framework is a significant step toward building a self-reliant rural economy, benefiting farmers, self-help groups, and small entrepreneurs. He described the budget as not merely a financial document but a commitment to the vision of “Prosperity through Cooperation.”
He also congratulated the Chief Minister and Finance Minister for presenting what he termed a people-centric budget and expressed confidence that it would further empower the state’s rural economy.
