CEO Zila Panchayat Urges Stronger Bank Coordination for NRLM Implementation; Outstanding Contributors Felicitated for FY 2024–25

A one-day training-cum-workshop for bankers was organized at the Collectorate conference hall in Rajnandgaon under the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan), focusing on key components such as Self-Help Group (SHG) credit linkage, enterprise finance, NRLM concept orientation, online loan application processes, and the RBI master circular.
The session was presided over by Ms. Suruchi Singh, CEO of Zila Panchayat, who emphasized the importance of ensuring that more SHGs and their members receive the benefits of credit facilities under the NRLM scheme. She directed banks to actively coordinate with government agencies for smooth implementation of livelihood programs. “Banks must play a proactive role in realizing the government’s vision by facilitating financial inclusion and empowering rural communities,” she stated.
National Resource Person Mr. Sudhakar Satpati provided in-depth training to all participants, covering NRLM frameworks, credit linkage procedures, the use of digital platforms for loan applications, enterprise finance strategies, financial literacy, and related insurance schemes.

During the event, institutions and individuals who made notable contributions to NRLM implementation during FY 2024–25 were felicitated. Among the recognized were the Regional Manager of Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank, Lead Bank Manager, and branch managers from CRGB Musarakala, Kumarda, and Tedesra branches; Union Bank of India, Sukuldaikhan branch; and Punjab National Bank, Tilai branch. These banks were awarded certificates of appreciation and mementos for their exceptional service.
On the field level, several community representatives were also honored. Bank Mitras including Ms. Lomeshwari Verma, Ms. Pushplata Gajbhiye, Ms. Lalita Dewangan, Ms. Sanjana Nirmalkar, and Ms. Kirti Yadav, along with FLCRPs (Financial Literacy & Credit Recovery Professionals) Ms. Hemlata Sahu, Ms. Shobha Vaishnav, Ms. Sunita Banjare, and Ms. Sangeeta Thakur received recognition for their remarkable efforts in mobilizing and supporting SHGs.
The workshop witnessed the participation of 120 delegates, including Lead Bank Officers, branch managers from multiple banks, district-level coordinators, BPMs (Block Project Managers), Bank Mitras, FLCRPs, and officials working under NRLM in different blocks of the district.
This initiative marked a significant step towards strengthening institutional collaboration and ensuring effective delivery of financial services to rural women through the Self-Help Group model.
