Women’s Self-Help Groups Showcase Progress; Strong Step Toward Women’s Empowerment

The annual general meeting of Aanchal Cluster Organization, Khadgaon, under the Manpur development block, was successfully held on 5 November in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and harmony. The event marked a significant milestone in advancing the economic and social empowerment of women self-help groups (SHGs) in the region.
The program was graced by District Panchayat President Smt. Namrata Singh as the chief guest. In her address, she lauded the remarkable work done by the cluster organization and said that rural women are moving rapidly toward self-reliance. She emphasized that this achievement is the outcome of their collective effort, determination, and organizational unity.
Also present at the program were Janpad Panchayat Manpur President Smt. Pushpa Mandavi, District Panchayat Member Smt. Rekha Kothari, Janpad Member Smt. Shahida Begum, DPM Shri Ramkumar Vishwakarma, Shri Anil Kapoor, and Shri Chandan. All guests appreciated the cluster’s annual achievements and motivated members to further enhance their skills, entrepreneurship, and leadership abilities.

The proceedings were conducted by PRP Smt. Chandrakali Sahu, who presented the comprehensive progress report of the cluster. She highlighted that over the past year, women associated with the organization have made notable economic progress through production, marketing, and small-scale enterprise activities.
Cluster President Smt. Prema Soni, Treasurer Smt. Durpat Kameti, Secretary Smt. Satyavati Salame, and Accountant Shri Kamlesh Vishwakarma shared detailed insights into their respective portfolios, including income-expenditure statements, banking transactions, empowerment initiatives, and training programs. The meeting also discussed the annual financial report, next year’s action plan, cluster vision, and overall profit figures.
Members suggested establishing permanent market spaces and organizing skill training camps to help local women market their products at district and state levels, thereby strengthening the local economy.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Smt. Namrata Singh said that such organizations not only provide economic strength but also nurture social leadership and confidence among women. She assured that the district administration will extend all possible support to ensure maximum benefit of government schemes reaches the Aanchal Cluster Organization.
The meeting witnessed the participation of around 1,000 women members, who actively contributed to making the event a success. In her closing remarks, the Cluster President expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continue working with greater strength and dedication toward rural women’s empowerment and community development.
