As part of preparations for the successful implementation of Census 2027 proposed by the Government of India, a training programme for Tehsildars and master trainers was organised at the Collectorate conference hall in Rajnandgaon. The training was conducted by Joint Director of Census Shri Ashok Mishra and Assistant Director of Census Shri Kavindra Bhangari.
The primary objective of the programme was to ensure digital demarcation and verification of village boundaries so as to maintain accuracy and reliability in census data. Emphasis was laid on the importance of precise mapping to avoid errors in population enumeration and administrative records.
Addressing the participants, Additional Collector Shri Prem Prakash Sharma directed officials to carry out census-related responsibilities with seriousness, transparency, and within stipulated timelines. During the session, detailed guidance was provided on digital mapping techniques, updating village boundaries, identifying potential discrepancies, and adopting corrective measures.

Master trainers were also given specific instructions to further train field-level staff effectively. Officials were informed that no habitation within a village should be left out during the survey process. Accurate village location data must be provided in digital maps, and any changes such as relocation of villages, formation of new villages, or cases where a village falls under a neighbouring tehsil must be promptly reported to the Census Office.
The training highlighted both the resolution of boundary-related inconsistencies in rural areas and the technical nuances of digital mapping. All Tehsildars and designated master trainers of the district were present during the programme.
