The Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, organised by the Jobanputra family, commenced on the 27th at Jalaram Satsang Bhavan in Kanchan Bagh. The religious discourse is being delivered by the city’s renowned storyteller, Pandit Mahendra Shukla. On the third day of the Katha, a large number of devotees gathered to listen to the spiritual narration.
During the discourse, Pandit Shukla elaborated on the significance and complexity of the Grihastha Ashram (householder’s stage of life), narrating a symbolic dialogue between Sage Narad and Lord Shri Krishna. He explained that Lord Krishna once asked Narad Muni to circumambulate Him while carrying a vessel filled with ghee, warning that if even a single drop fell, the Sudarshan Chakra following him would sever his head. Hearing this, Narad Muni set aside his tanpura and began the circumambulation with utmost caution, keeping his entire focus on the vessel.

Through this example, Lord Krishna illustrated that just as Narad Muni’s attention remained fixed on the vessel at every moment, a householder must remain constantly alert while maintaining balance between family, society, and personal duties. Pandit Shukla emphasized that the Grihastha Ashram should not be considered inferior, as it is the most demanding yet highly responsible and significant stage of life.
The discourse deeply moved the devotees, who listened with devotion and reverence.
