Officers Must Work with Full Commitment for District and Urban Development under Government Schemes: Collector Jitendra Yadav

Strong action to continue against middlemen involved in illegal paddy transport; focus on road construction, rural inspections, welfare schemes, and improving benefits under Ayushman Card

Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav chaired the weekly time-limit meeting at the Collectorate conference hall on Tuesday, directing officers to maintain complete commitment toward district and urban development under various state government schemes.

Strict action to continue against illegal paddy transport

The Collector appreciated the efforts of all SDMs for effectively curbing illegal transportation of paddy during the ongoing procurement season. He instructed that strict action against agents, middlemen, and transporters must continue with the same intensity. He also emphasised the need to expedite the submission of land records (Rakba Samarpan) after paddy procurement to ensure smooth operations.

Urban development reviewed: Roads, flyovers, water supply, beautification

Shri Yadav reviewed details of newly completed and ongoing works under the Nagar Nigam. These included:

  • City roads and flyover projects
  • Divider and beautification works
  • Water supply infrastructure
  • Future urban possibilities under the City Development Plan
  • Landscaping and plantation activities

He instructed that maintenance of public gardens should be assigned to industries and directed the Public Works Department to take up construction of important roads in a planned and time-bound manner.

Rural construction quality under close scrutiny

The Collector instructed all Janpad Panchayat CEOs to personally inspect the physical status of construction works in rural areas, including:

  • Quality of building constructions
  • CC road works
  • Overall condition of rural roads

He stressed that accountability will be fixed based on the quality of works executed. Progress under MGNREGA and PM Awas Yojana (Rural) was also reviewed.

Focus on nutrition, welfare, and rehabilitation of children

Shri Yadav praised the efforts of the Women and Child Development Department under the ‘Potth Laika’ initiative, aimed at improving the nutrition levels of children. He said that Nutritional Rehabilitation Centres (NRCs) must continue to play a proactive role in improving child health.

Timely redressal of citizen grievances

During the review of time-limit cases, the Collector directed departments to ensure qualitative and fair disposal of public applications. He sought updates on matters related to ancestral property division, ownership disputes, and land partition cases.

Progress under Surya Ghar Yojana, Ayushman Cards, and welfare schemes

Shri Yadav expressed satisfaction over the progress made in the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, noting significant achievements over the past week. He also acknowledged remarkable progress in issuing Ayushman Cards and Vaya Vandana Cards in the district.

He directed strict action against hospitals that are failing to provide Ayushman scheme benefits to eligible beneficiaries. The Collector also instructed departments to work sincerely for the economic empowerment of poor and vulnerable sections, ensuring that visible change is brought in their financial stability.

Additional instructions and participation

CEO Zila Panchayat Ms. Suruchi Singh presented updates on PM Awas Yojana–Gramin and encouraged widespread adoption of solar panels under the Surya Ghar scheme.

The meeting was attended by Additional Collector C.L. Markandey, Additional Collector Prem Prakash Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, and other district officials. All SDMs participated via video conferencing.
