Superintendent of Police (SP) Ankita Sharma carried out a surprise inspection at Basantpur Police Station on Wednesday, thoroughly reviewing the station’s functioning, discipline, and record management. Arriving without prior intimation, the SP conducted a detailed examination of various registers and operational procedures.
During the inspection, SP Sharma scrutinized the V.C.N.B. register, daily diary (Roznamcha), pending crime register, malkhana, CCTNS room, and other official records. She emphasized that unnecessary delays in resolving pending cases would not be tolerated and instructed officers to ensure swift and effective disposal.

The SP also inspected cleanliness within the station premises, discipline among staff, the condition of the armoury, the record room, and the status of seized vehicles. Noticing lapses in the timely disposal of impounded vehicles, she directed the station staff to complete all due procedures within the prescribed time frame.
A key highlight of the inspection was SP Sharma’s direct interaction with complainants present at the police station. She patiently listened to their grievances and assured them of prompt redressal. She instructed the Station House Officer (SHO) to initiate immediate action on all relevant cases.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma, Basantpur SHO Inspector Eman Sahu, and other police station staff were present during the inspection. Concluding her visit, SP Ankita Sharma reiterated that public convenience and law-and-order management remain the top priorities of the police force, and that sensitive and public-interest matters must be dealt with utmost urgency and responsibility.
