Shivnath Science College Crowned Champions at Inter-College Football Tournament in Dongargaon

Rajnadgaon’s Shivnath Science College Clinches Historic Victory with 5–4 Penalty Shootout Win in Thrilling Finale

Showcasing exceptional skill, grit and teamwork, Government Shivnath Science College, Rajnandgaon emerged as the champions of the inter-college football tournament held at Dongargaon under the Rajnandgaon division. A total of eight teams from the region participated in the high-energy competition.

The tournament kicked off with Shivnath Science College defeating CID College, Rajnandgaon with an impressive 2–0 victory, demonstrating their strong intent from the very first match.

The winning momentum continued in the semifinals, where the team overpowered Dongargaon College with a hard-fought 2–1 win, securing their place in the grand finale.

The final match against Dongargarh College proved to be a nail-biting affair. Both teams were locked in a 2–2 draw at the end of regular time. For Shivnath College, goals came from Himanshu Lakhariya and Varyam Singh, keeping the team’s hopes alive.

The championship was ultimately decided via a tense penalty shootout, in which Shivnath Science College edged out Dongargarh College 5–4, creating history. This marks the first time the college has claimed the title in this prestigious inter-college tournament.

Ravi Sinha, Chairman of the College Janbhagidari Committee, congratulated the team for their remarkable achievement and extended best wishes for their future endeavors.

Sports Officer Paresh Verma appreciated the performance of the victorious squad, which included team captain Chandrabhan Yadav, vice-captain Ketan Meshram, along with Varyam Singh, Ojas Choudhary, Himanshu Lakhariya, Bhupendra Yadav, Yatharth Yadav, Doman Kumar, Prithvi, Devesh Kumar, Jitesh and Jay Pawar.
