In a heartwarming gesture, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav marked his birthday not with cake and candles but with stethoscopes and smiles, inaugurating a day-long free medical camp at Eentkhedi village on the outskirts of Bhopal.Over 1,400 villagers received specialist consultations in medicine, gynaecology, paediatrics, ophthalmology and dental care.

Free medicines, spectacles, blood-sugar tests and ECGs were provided on the spot. Twenty critical patients were referred to JP Hospital with transport arranged by the district administration.Speaking to the gathering under a peepal tree, Dr Yadav said, “Every birthday is a reminder that we have one more year to serve. I urge every citizen—rich or poor, young or old—to dedicate at least one day a year to public welfare. Jan-seva is the highest punya.

The CM highlighted how Madhya Pradesh’s “double-engine” governance has added 42 new medical colleges, 1,800 new PHCs and 24×7 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the last 22 months. “From drone-delivered medicines in tribal hamlets to super-speciality OPDs in every district, health is no longer a privilege—it is a promise delivered,” he declared.Villager Geeta Bai, 62, who received her first-ever cataract screening, folded her hands and said, “Yadav ji aaye aur roshni laaye (He came and brought light).

”The camp concluded with the CM planting a neem sapling and taking a pledge with 200 schoolchildren: “One birthday, one act of service.” Organisers say the model will now be replicated in every assembly segment on leaders’ birthdays. With folding tables turning into OPDs and village chaupals into waiting lounges, Eentkhedi today showed that the best gift a leader can give is good health—and the best gift citizens can return is a shared resolve to serve.
