Animal Fair, Veterinary Camp, and Free Mega Camp to Mark World Rabies Day on September 26–28

Cattle exhibitions, free diagnostic tests, anti-rabies vaccination, deworming, and artificial insemination services to be provided in Rajnandgaon

As part of the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav celebrations, the Livestock Development Department has announced a series of animal health and awareness programs to be held later this month.

On September 26, 2025, an Animal Fair and Veterinary Camp will be organized at the District Veterinary Hospital, Rajnandgaon, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair will feature exhibitions of improved breeds of calves, cows, goats, and poultry, alongside a free health check-up camp for animals. Diagnostic services such as CBC, LFT, RFT, fecal, and urine tests will be provided free of cost.

Further, on September 27 and 28, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., special Free Mega Camps will be conducted to mark World Rabies Day. The camp will offer free anti-rabies vaccinations for pet dogs, deworming medicines, and sterilization surgeries under the Dog Animal Birth Control Program. Cattle and buffalo owners will also benefit from the distribution of deworming medicines, free pregnancy testing, and artificial insemination services.

Veterinary experts will provide free counseling on infertility issues in female cattle and share detailed information about various livestock development schemes being implemented by the department.

Dr. Tarun Ramteke, in-charge of the District Veterinary Hospital, has appealed to farmers and pet owners to participate in large numbers and avail themselves of the free services. For more details, participants can contact the hospital at 8839367911.
