Under the Social Assistance Programme, the annual verification of beneficiaries receiving pensions is currently being conducted in Rajnandgaon using a newly introduced digital method. As per the guidelines issued by the Government of India, this year’s verification is being done through the ‘Beneficiary Verification App’, accessible via Android mobile devices.

A dedicated verification camp has been set up at the Municipal Corporation Hall, where 4,750 pension beneficiaries have already completed their verification process. The remaining 6,139 beneficiaries are yet to be verified.

Municipal Commissioner Mr. Atul Vishwakarma informed that the app-based system has been introduced to enhance transparency and efficiency in the verification process for various central pension schemes, including:

  • Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme
  • Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme
  • Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme

A total of 10,889 beneficiaries fall under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation. To ensure that no beneficiary misses out, the verification camps are operational daily, including Saturdays and Sundays, up to 2 PM.
