The District Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) Management Committee meeting was convened under the leadership of Collector Mrs. Tulika Prajapati at the Collectorate conference hall in Mohla, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district.
Key decisions were made in alignment with the 2025–26 financial year plans for rural sanitation. The Collector directed the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure water availability in community toilets and solid and liquid waste management (SLWM) sheds that currently lack this essential facility.

New action plans were mandated for the construction and upgrade of community toilets, greywater treatment plants, and community soak pits. These proposals are to be based on local population data, utility assessments, and specific water sources.
Each block will identify one gram panchayat to be developed as a Model Gram Panchayat, with special emphasis on Danagarh (Mandla), listed under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. Action plans for such villages must aim to operationalize existing infrastructure.
To enhance public awareness, cleanliness programs will be conducted in schools and Anganwadi centers, with a “Swachhata Tihar” cleanliness festival scheduled for every Saturday. A special sanitation campaign will run from May 22 to June 5, coinciding with World Environment Day, and all activities must be logged in the MIS system.
To achieve plastic-free development blocks, directives were given to activate Plastic Waste Management Units, maintain purchase and sales registers, and submit proposals for e-rickshaw loaders to link SLWM waste to these units.
Furthermore, initiatives will be taken to create income sources for sanitation workers and ensure the activation of all activities under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The meeting was attended by District Mission Committee Secretary and CEO of the District Panchayat, Mrs. Bharti Chandrakar, along with other committee members, Janpad Panchayat CEOs, district coordinators, block sanitation officers, and block coordinators.
