On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sahay launched the Atal Panchayat Digital Service Center virtually, presenting a significant advancement in digital governance at the grassroots level. The virtual event also included an online pledge on water conservation, administered to representatives and villagers of all gram panchayats in the state. Gram Panchayat Gathula, from Rajnandgaon district, participated in the event through video conferencing.

During the launch, Chief Minister Sahay highlighted the importance of these digital centers in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and simplicity in administrative work at the panchayat level. He explained that these centers would play a crucial role in delivering government services directly to rural communities, enhancing accessibility and ensuring timely delivery of documents, schemes, and other administrative services.

The initiative is a step toward digital empowerment of villages, aiming to connect rural residents with government schemes and benefits more effectively. During the event, villagers from Gathula enthusiastically participated and repeated the water conservation pledge. They committed to preserving and enhancing local water sources for sustainable use.

Present at the event were the President of the District Panchayat Rajnandgaon, district and block panchayat members, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Ms. Suruchi Singh, other local representatives, officials, and a large number of villagers.
