From cleanliness drives at Mahaveer Talab in Dongargarh to village-level sanitation, plantation and welfare stories, the Seva Mera Yogdan initiative highlights collective participation and the impact of government schemes

Cleanliness Drive Held at Mahaveer Talab in Dongargarh
Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the Seva Mera Yogdan initiative organised a Swachhata Hi Seva programme at Mahaveer Talab in Dongargarh on Thursday. Elected representatives, officials, employees and teams from various departments joined hands to undertake voluntary labour and clean the premises.
The participants cleaned the pond area and conveyed the message of collective responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness at public places.
The programme was attended by Dongargarh Municipal Council President Raman Dongre, Vice-President Uma Mahesh Verma, Saumitra Soni, Sumit Bose, Vinay Bansal, councillors and aldermen, SDM Dongargarh Akshay Doshi, and Chief Municipal Officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, along with other public representatives and officials.
ITBP and Tourism Department Join the Initiative
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Chhattisgarh Tourism Department also participated actively in the cleanliness programme. Shri Nivas Rao and his team from the Tourism Department joined the collective effort to clean Mahaveer Talab and its surrounding areas.
The initiative under Seva Mera Yogdan emphasised that keeping public places clean and attractive is not solely the responsibility of the administration, but also requires active participation from citizens.
The collective cleanliness drive further strengthened the resolve of building a clean and beautiful Dongargarh.
Cleanliness and Plantation Drive Planned Across Chhuriya Villages
Under the Seva Mera Yogdan initiative of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, an “Adopt a Village–Seva Work” programme will be organised across all gram panchayats of the Chhuriya development block.
The programme will run from September 25 to October 17, with activities focused on cleanliness, plantation and environmental conservation being carried out with public participation at the gram panchayat level.
As part of the initiative, cleanliness drives will be conducted at rivers, ponds, ghats, tourist destinations and other public places. Villagers, local representatives and volunteers will participate in cleaning activities and spreading awareness about cleanliness.
Focus on Green Areas and Public Participation
Tree plantation activities will also be undertaken at various locations with the objective of expanding green areas and promoting environmental conservation.
Through the Adopt a Village–Seva Work programme, villagers will be encouraged to actively participate in keeping their villages and public places clean and protected.
The programme aims to transform cleanliness into a public movement and create a clean, beautiful and green environment in rural areas. Secretaries of the respective gram panchayats have been designated as nodal officers for the smooth implementation of the programme.
Public representatives, villagers, voluntary organisations and youth will participate in service activities at the gram panchayat level.
‘My Toilet, My Dignity’: Sanitation Initiative Brings Security and Respect to Tulsi Bai’s Family
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), access to individual household toilets is contributing to improved cleanliness, safety and dignity among rural families.
For Tulsi Bai, a resident of the remote forest village of Kotnapani in Dongargarh development block, the availability of a household toilet has brought a positive change to her family’s daily life.
The facility has relieved the family from the difficulties associated with open defecation and provided its members with a cleaner and safer environment. For women in particular, the availability of a household toilet addresses important concerns related to security, privacy and dignity.
The family has also become more conscious of cleanliness, while regular use of the toilet has become part of its daily routine.
Tulsi Bai Expresses Gratitude
Tulsi Bai said that having a toilet at home has brought considerable convenience to her family and eliminated the concern of having to go out for open defecation. She emphasised the connection between cleanliness, health and dignity.
She also said that the family encourages others to maintain cleanliness in and around their homes.
Tulsi Bai expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Bhaiya for providing the individual household toilet facility. She also extended her best wishes for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s service journey.
According to Tulsi Bai, a small step towards cleanliness has brought a major positive change to her family’s life. Her message is: “Clean Family, Healthy Family” and “My Toilet, My Dignity.”
She further said that she encourages other rural families to construct individual household toilets, use them regularly and maintain cleanliness.
PM-Kisan Support Helps Farmer Pradyuman Patel Meet Agricultural Needs
Government welfare schemes are also supporting farmers in meeting their agricultural requirements.
Pradyuman Patel, a farmer from Nagatrai village in Dongargarh development block, said that he has been receiving continuous benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Patel said he is a beneficiary farmer under the scheme and has received the 23rd instalment so far.
According to him, the financial assistance received under the scheme has proved useful for agricultural activities. He uses the amount to purchase essential farming inputs, including seeds, fertilisers, agricultural equipment and pesticides.
Financial Assistance Supports Timely Farm Operations
Patel said the financial support helps him arrange necessary agricultural materials during the farming season and complete agricultural work on time.
He said that even a small amount of timely financial assistance can prove highly useful for a farmer during agricultural operations.
Patel described the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana as an initiative being implemented with farmers’ needs in mind. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, saying that such schemes help farmers mobilise the resources required for cultivation.
