800 Pilgrims Flagged Off Under Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Yojana from Rajnandgaon

Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train Departs for Haridwar and Rishikesh with Pilgrims from Four Districts

Under the Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Yojana, a total of 800 pilgrims were flagged off for a sacred pilgrimage from Rajnandgaon Railway Station via the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train. The group comprised 780 pilgrims along with 20 attendants drawn from four districts of the region.

Of the total pilgrims, 313 were from Rajnandgaon district, 244 from Kabirdham, 113 from Khairagarh–Chhuikhadan–Gandai, and 110 from Mohla–Manpur–Ambagarh Chowki. As part of the pilgrimage itinerary, the devotees will visit Haridwar, Rishikesh, and the Bharat Mata Temple. The return journey is scheduled for December 31, 2025.

Considering the winter season, the Department of Social Welfare made comprehensive arrangements for the comfort and safety of the pilgrims, including the provision of warm blankets and other essential facilities. Prior to departure, the atmosphere at the railway station was filled with devotion and cultural fervour, highlighted by a traditional Raut Nacha folk dance performance.

The pilgrims were ceremonially sent off with garlands and tilak, symbolising blessings for a safe and fulfilling journey. The train was flagged off in the presence of District Panchayat Vice-Chairperson Smt. Kiran Sahu, Janpad Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Pratima Chandrakar, District Panchayat Members Smt. Shila Sinha and Smt. Devkumari Sahu, social worker Shri Pappu Chandrakar, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Smt. Vaishali Maradwar, along with officials from the district administration and railway management.
