On April 20, 2025, the Kosariya Marar Patel Samaj of Raj Ambagarh Chowki, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki (Chhattisgarh) organized a mass community wedding, social gathering, and talent recognition ceremony in Bagdai village, Dongargaon. The event witnessed the union of 15 couples under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, which aims to support low-income families by promoting cost-effective and dignified marriage ceremonies.

The event was held in the presence of distinguished guests, including Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey, District Panchayat Chairperson Jagrati Chunni Yadu, Nagar Panchayat President Anju Tripathi, former District Panchayat President Dinesh Gandhi, former Nagar Panchayat President Lakshmi Narayan Gupta, BJP Mandal President Dongargaon Deena Patel, and Kosariya Samaj President Dev Kumar Patel.

The function began with traditional prayers and offerings to the community’s Kuldevi Maa Shakambhari and Lord Shri Ram, followed by a floral and ceremonial welcome of the guests.

Addressing the gathering, MP Santosh Pandey congratulated the newlywed couples and presented them with gifts and blessings. He praised the community for organizing such a meaningful event and emphasized that mass wedding ceremonies promote social unity, cooperation, and reduce unnecessary expenses on extravagant weddings.

Speaking on the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, dignitaries highlighted the scheme as a boon for economically weaker sections. “In today’s time, where ostentatious spending is increasing, such government-supported initiatives help curb lavish weddings and provide real financial relief,” they said. Along with financial assistance, essential household materials were also distributed to the newlyweds.

The event saw the presence of several prominent community members, including Dev Kumar Patel, Dwarka Patel, Charan Patel, Mohan Pipariya, Mehattar Patel, Mahasingh Patel, Dev Singh Patel, Umendi Patel, Roman Patel, and many others. Their participation and support contributed significantly to the success of this large-scale community initiative.
