The BJP in Rajnandgaon launched a robust citywide campaign, ‘Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar-Ghar Swadeshi,’ under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Led by District President Komal Singh Rajput, party workers began the drive from Mahavir Chowk and interacted with shopkeepers in the main market, urging them to promote Vocal for Local products. Swadeshi stickers were pasted on shops, and citizens were encouraged to adopt Indian-made goods in their daily lives. Rajput said the nationwide campaign aims to make Swadeshi a mass movement, boost MSMEs, empower local artisans and expand employment opportunities. The party will conduct multiple awareness programmes across schools, panchayats and public places to promote indigenous products and strengthen the local economy.
In a major relief for the traditional Poha industry of Chhattisgarh, the state government has reduced the mandi fee on paddy used for Poha production to 1% and granted a full exemption from the farmer welfare charge. The move, which became effective on November 6, 2025, follows continuous efforts by former Chief Minister and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, whose intervention has been widely credited for this policy decision. The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and local producers felicitated Dr. Singh in Rajnandgaon for his support.
