Criticising the Union Budget 2026, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary and Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha In-charge Shahid Bhai has termed the Centre’s “Viksit Bharat 2047” narrative hollow, stating that when even previous budget allocations remain unspent, long-term promises hold little value. He alleged sharp cuts in key social sectors and called the budget a complete failure in addressing economic challenges faced by common citizens.

Reacting to the Union Budget 2026–27, a retired ITBP Commandant and Indian Navy veteran has termed the budget strategically sound and security-conscious, noting that while Chhattisgarh received no direct allocation, enhanced capital expenditure, defence modernisation, and social sector spending offer significant indirect opportunities—provided the state proactively aligns local priorities with central schemes.
