Senior IAS officer Vikas Shree (1994 batch) has been appointed as Chhattisgarh’s next Chief Secretary, effective October 1, 2025, following his recall from the Asian Development Bank in Manila. The move, cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, comes as Amitabh Jain’s tenure ends on September 30. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed Shree’s appointment as a “game-changer,” citing his international expertise in infrastructure and climate finance. Tasked with boosting the state’s $100 billion economy vision, Shree will take charge amid Naxal challenges, flood rehabilitation, and budget preparations.
