Rajnandgaon district has stocked 14,686 quintals of seeds and over 63,700 metric tonnes of fertilisers for the Kharif 2026 season. More than 13,700 quintals of seeds and 80% of the available fertiliser stock have already been distributed to farmers as sowing operations continue across the district.

The Agriculture Department has set July 31, 2026, as the last date for enrolling under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the Kharif season in Rajnandgaon. With the possibility of below-normal rainfall due to El Niño, farmers have been urged to insure their crops against weather-related losses.

Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav has directed officials to ensure the timely distribution of fertilisers and seeds to farmers ahead of the Kharif season. The district currently has 41,509 metric tonnes of fertilisers and 6,036 quintals of seeds available, while enforcement teams continue action against black marketing, hoarding and other irregularities.

Ahead of the Kharif season, 8,555 farmers in Rajnandgaon have lifted 2,843 metric tonnes of fertiliser through cooperative societies, reflecting growing awareness about balanced fertiliser use and improved agricultural preparedness in the district.

More than 1.08 lakh farmers in Rajnandgaon have completed Aadhaar seeding under the PM-Kisan scheme as the Agriculture Department intensifies door-to-door campaigns ahead of the proposed release of the 23rd installment.

The PM Pranam Kisan Seminar at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Surgi, guided Rajnandgaon farmers toward organic and natural farming. Experts advised on reducing chemical fertilizer use, maintaining soil health, and accessing government subsidies, promoting sustainable agriculture practices.
