In a remarkable achievement for Chhattisgarh, Rajnandgaon district has been selected as the Best District in the East Zone under the 6th National Water Awards 2024, announced by Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil. The prestigious award, recognizing excellence in water conservation and community participation, will be conferred by President Droupadi Murmu on November 18, 2025 in New Delhi.

On the 25th Foundation Day of Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the state’s new Legislative Assembly complex in Nava Raipur, marking a defining moment in the Silver Jubilee celebrations. During a district-level review meeting, Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav called for active participation of power officials and banks in speeding up the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He emphasized vendor accountability, weekly progress reviews, and wider public awareness to ensure citizens benefit from free solar electricity.

In Rajnandgaon, the emotionally-driven “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign saw the plantation of 38,000 saplings with wide community involvement. Spearheaded by the district administration, the initiative promotes environmental sustainability while paying heartfelt tribute to mothers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with Brazil’s highest civilian honor, ‘The Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross,’ by President Lula. The award signifies the strengthening diplomatic, cultural, and strategic ties between India and Brazil, and celebrates the growing friendship between the two nations on the global stage.
