Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav said that strong communication between parents and adolescents plays a crucial role in shaping young people’s future. He was speaking at a one-day ‘Samvad Sanskar’ workshop focused on strengthening parental participation in education and health during adolescence.

Senior BJP leader Jagannath Panigrahi accused the Congress of opposing the Viksit Bharat Guarantee–Rural Employment and Livelihood Mission (VB-G Ramji) by using Mahatma Gandhi’s name as a shield, stating that the party has a history of resisting initiatives linked with “Ram.” BJP leaders said the scheme will strengthen rural livelihoods and eliminate corruption seen in earlier programmes.

During celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Rajnandgaon, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav announced the construction of a new two-storey, fully equipped building for the Netaji Subhash Club. The announcement was welcomed by local residents, who have long demanded redevelopment of the ageing community facility.

As part of a special drive against illegal liquor trade, Rajnandgaon police have arrested a Bhilai-based accused involved in liquor smuggling on the National Highway. The operation led to the seizure of over 147 bulk litres of illicit liquor worth more than ₹12 lakh, dealing a major blow to the illegal liquor network in the district.
