The Muskaan Women Self-Help Group in Surajpur district has turned the scenic Pilkha Reservoir into a symbol of women’s empowerment and rural entrepreneurship. By successfully operating a boating facility for tourists, the group has earned ₹74,000 in income while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for its members.

Rupanarayan Sinha, Yoga Commission Chairman, called on citizens to embrace swadeshi for a self-reliant India, stating it will restore the nation as the Golden Bird. Experts at the Rajnandgaon conference also discussed GST reforms and national progress, while dignitaries from multiple communities attended the event.

At a workshop in Rajnandgaon, Speaker Dr. Raman Singh highlighted solar power as a golden opportunity for farmers and citizens to achieve self-reliance and protect the environment. He flagged off the ‘Surya Rath’ and promoted the Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and Kusum Yojana, offering subsidies for rooftop solar and solar pumps.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended the PM SVANidhi scheme till March 31, 2030, to empower street vendors with affordable credit, financial inclusion, and digital support. The move aims to strengthen self-reliance and ensure inclusive growth for millions of small entrepreneurs across India.
