In a strong push to curb Maoist activities in Chhattisgarh's Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district, Superintendent of Police VY Singh met the family of wanted Maoist commander Lokesh Salame, urging him to shun violence and surrender under the state’s rehabilitation policy. At the District Water & Sanitation Committee meeting, Collector Sanjay Agrawal directed PHE field staff to stay in alert mode, conduct regular village inspections, and promptly resolve water supply issues amid declining groundwater levels.

In a major push to improve rural access to drinking water, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh has successfully secured ₹99.36 lakh for the drilling of new borewells in 44 villages of Rajnandgaon block. The move, welcomed by villagers, aims to ease water scarcity ahead of the intense summer months.
