More than 150 persons with disabilities registered for free assistive devices at an assessment camp organised in Rajnandgaon by ALIMCO in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department.

Rajnandgaon Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma has urged citizens to pay their pending property tax before March 31, warning that a 5% surcharge on property tax and 15% on water tax will be imposed after the deadline.

Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav was rushed to Raipur late Saturday night after his health suddenly deteriorated. Following medical evaluation and precautionary ICU admission, doctors confirmed his condition is stable, with all reports normal. He has now been shifted to a general ward.

A total of 12 long-term tenant families in Rajnandgaon were allotted permanent homes under the ‘Mor Makan Mor Aas’ scheme through a lottery conducted by the Municipal Corporation. With this, 229 families have now secured housing under the initiative, which aims to provide affordable homes to eligible urban households.

Ahead of Diwali, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav inspected Rajnandgaon’s Station Para area, reviewing sanitation and underbridge construction work. He instructed officials to resolve waterlogging issues, expedite the underbridge project, and ensure regular waste collection and segregation. Responding to residents’ requests, he also directed preparations for road and drainage improvements in Shikshak Nagar. The initiative aligns with Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai’s emphasis on city-wide cleanliness and public health safety.

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav extended heartfelt Diwali greetings to Rajnandgaon residents, urging them to celebrate with unity, cleanliness, and support for local artisans and swadeshi products. His appeal received a positive public response, boosting local economic activity and promoting cultural pride. City officials and council members also joined in extending festive wishes and encouraging eco-friendly, traditional celebrations.

Ahead of Diwali, Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will distribute sarees to Swachhata Didis, municipal women employees, and SHG members in Rajnandgaon on October 16. The civic event, also marking his birthday, aims to honor their vital role in keeping the city clean.

Under the ongoing annual verification drive for central pension schemes, 4,750 beneficiaries in Rajnandgaon have completed their verification through the Aadhaar-based 'Beneficiary Verification App'. The Municipal Corporation has set up daily camps, including weekends, to ensure all 10,889 eligible pensioners complete the process and continue receiving benefits without disruption.

As part of “Sushasan Tihar 2025,” a multi-departmental grievance redressal camp was held at Thakur Pyarelal School Ground in Rajnandgaon, benefitting citizens from six municipal wards through instant resolution of applications and distribution of welfare documents.

Aiming to strengthen urban governance and development, Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, and other senior officials participated in the two-day 'Nagar Suraj Sangam' workshop in Raipur, inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao.

Assistant Engineer Kamna Singh Yadav was given an emotional farewell by the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation as he retired upon reaching the age of superannuation. Senior officials including the Commissioner and Executive Engineers praised his dedicated service and contributions, particularly in ward delimitation projects.
