The Agriculture Department has set July 31, 2026, as the last date for enrolling under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the Kharif season in Rajnandgaon. With the possibility of below-normal rainfall due to El Niño, farmers have been urged to insure their crops against weather-related losses.

With 115% above-normal rains recorded this season, impacts range from bumper harvest prospects to crop damage, flooding, and rising dengue cases.
