As part of a special revenue recovery अभियान, the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited recovered ₹48.39 lakh from 279 defaulting consumers in Rajnandgaon city, while disconnecting 373 power connections for non-payment of dues.
Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, a senior agriculture officer in Rajnandgaon installed a 3 kW solar rooftop plant, reducing his electricity bill to zero. The scheme is promoting clean energy, financial savings and energy self-reliance across the district.
During a district-level review meeting, Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav called for active participation of power officials and banks in speeding up the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He emphasized vendor accountability, weekly progress reviews, and wider public awareness to ensure citizens benefit from free solar electricity.
At the DLRC and DCC meeting in Rajnandgaon, Collector Dr. S.N. Bhure directed bankers to prioritize loan approvals under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and PM SVANidhi, while extending greater credit support to small enterprises, SHGs, and women entrepreneurs. Officials emphasized timely resolution of pending cases to maximize public benefit.
Energy Secretary and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies, Dr. Rohit Yadav, reviewed departmental works with field officers during his district visit. He directed officials to promote rooftop solar installation under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, highlighting its role in providing pollution-free, free, and continuous electricity. The meeting also reviewed progress on smart meter installation, feeder separation, transformer maintenance, and various state and central power schemes.
District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh chaired the weekly time-limit meeting at the Collectorate, directing officials to ensure all arrangements for Independence Day celebrations, including stage setup, security, seating, decorations, and drinking water facilities. The final rehearsal will be held on August 13 at 8:40 AM, while a Freedom Run is scheduled for August 14 at 7:20 AM. Singh emphasized adopting e-file operations in all departments and reviewed preparations for the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. She also instructed departments to gear up for the Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee celebrations, marking 25 years of statehood, with events such as exhibitions, nutrition fairs, and awareness programs. Officials also discussed the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and upcoming camps for issuing income, caste, and residence certificates across villages starting August 20.
