Rajnandgaon district has secured a place among the top three districts in India in the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s national competition on water conservation through public participation. Awarded ₹2 crore, the district’s achievement highlights the power of community-driven solutions and women-led initiatives in sustainable water management.
Awareness programs were organized in Sambalpur, Badgaon, and Parewadi villages of Rajnandgaon under Seva Parv and Aadi Karmyogi Abhiyan, informing villagers about government schemes while motivating them towards water conservation, cleanliness, and crop rotation.
As part of the ongoing 'Sushasan Tihar', Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh participated in a mega solution camp in village Tedsera, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for 22 development works worth ₹1.21 crore. Multiple welfare benefits, including housing, sanitation, and health cards, were distributed to the villagers under various central and state schemes.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh participated in the 'Neer Aur Naari Jal Yatra' in Tedsera, Rajnandgaon, encouraging women-led efforts toward water conservation. Led by Padma Shri Phoolbasan Yadav, this green initiative has already reached 65 villages, promoting water-saving practices and environmental awareness.
To raise awareness about water conservation in the semi-critical Rajnandgaon district, a symbolic Water Kalash Yatra was organized in Kirgi village under the leadership of Padma Shri awardee Phoolbasan Yadav. The initiative, part of a broader campaign titled Neer aur Naari Jal Yatra, aimed to inspire community participation in safeguarding water resources for future generations.
