Illegal sand excavation has resurfaced in Dongargaon, prompting the Rajnandgaon district administration to launch strict enforcement measures. Multiple vehicles transporting illegally mined sand have been seized in back-to-back operations.

Tensions escalated in Rajnandgaon's Mohrad area as hundreds of Congress workers and locals gheraoed the Basantpur police station demanding the immediate arrest of BJP functionary Sanjay Singh, the alleged mastermind behind the Mohrad firing incident. Congress leaders alleged that the BJP is protecting criminals involved in illegal sand mining and warned of mass protests if justice is delayed further.

In a late-night operation led by the Revenue and Mining Departments, eight vehicles transporting sand and gravel illegally were seized in Rajnandgaon district. The crackdown, ordered by Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, aims to curb the rising cases of illegal mining and transportation across the region.
