Aadhaar Goes Minimalist: UIDAI Set to Launch Ultra-Secure, Privacy-First Cards in December

UIDAI is set to unveil a radically redesigned, privacy-first Aadhaar card in December 2025, featuring only a photograph and a high-security QR code on the front. All visible personal details — including name, Aadhaar number, DOB, gender and address — will be removed to curb identity theft. Existing cards will remain valid, while citizens may opt for the new minimalist version for free.
