Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai welcomed Commonwealth Games 2026 silver medallist Gyaneshwari Yadav in Raipur and congratulated her on bringing laurels to India and Chhattisgarh. The Rajnandgaon athlete is arriving in her hometown today, where a grand welcome and civic felicitation have been planned.

Rajnandgaon Police have arrested three members of an alleged motorcycle theft gang from Durg district in a joint operation by the Cyber Cell and Mohara Police Outpost. Two stolen motorcycles, reported missing from Rajnandgaon and Dongargarh police station areas, were recovered, and the accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

A one-day workshop on post-harvest management, value addition and entrepreneurship was organised at Pandit Shiv Kumar Shastri Agricultural College and Research Centre, Surgi, on its Foundation Day. The programme focused on equipping farmers, women and rural youth with practical skills in fruit and vegetable processing, packaging, branding and marketing to improve income and create employment opportunities.

The Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Agricultural Development Corporation Limited has launched a special campaign in Rajnandgaon to encourage farmers to participate in the Kharif 2026 seed production programme. Registered farmers will receive higher procurement prices, additional incentive payments and timely disbursement, with registration open until August 15, 2026.
