Farmers Advised to Adopt Dhaincha Green Manure to Reduce Urea Consumption

The Agriculture Department has urged farmers in Rajnandgaon district to adopt Dhaincha (Sesbania) as green manure to improve soil fertility and reduce dependence on chemical fertilisers. Farmers using Dhaincha can save up to three bags of urea per hectare while also receiving a 50 percent subsidy on cultivation costs.

A five-day training programme on Cow-Based Natural Farming concluded in Rajnandgaon, focusing on Panchgavya-based bio-inputs, soil health improvement, crop nutrition and eco-friendly farming methods. Organised by Maharshi Vagbhatt Cow Conservation and Research Institute, the programme highlighted sustainable, low-cost agriculture while addressing the harmful effects of chemical farming on environment and human health.
