The initiative, led by Municipal Corporation Chairman Paras Verma, aims to educate citizens about the benefits of rooftop solar energy, government subsidies, and the process of availing the scheme.

The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company has launched an extensive awareness campaign across Mohla, Chhuria, Dongargaon, Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh, and Dongargarh under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. The initiative aims to promote rooftop solar installations by providing on-the-spot registration and guidance on the online application process. Over 6,500 applications have already been received, with many beneficiaries now enjoying free, uninterrupted, and eco-friendly power.
