Rajnandgaon is set to witness a grand two-day celebration of Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh’s 73rd birthday on October 15. The festivities will include social welfare activities, cultural programs, and a spectacular “Kailash Kher Night” organized by Bhavesh Baid and the Youth Welfare Foundation. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, cabinet ministers, and senior BJP leaders will attend the events, making it a memorable confluence of music, devotion, and community spirit.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will be on a two-day tour of Rajnandgaon on September 24–25, attending programs on skill development, environment, service, and intellectual discourse, along with a visit to Maa Bamleshwari Temple in Dongargarh.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh on Thursday visited the bereaved families of the Bajrangpur-Navagaon incident, where three youths lost their lives in recent violent clashes. Extending condolences, he announced financial relief of ₹1 lakh each for the victims’ families, compassionate appointment for one family, and a job placement opportunity for another. He also confirmed the establishment of a new police outpost between Navagaon and Chikhli to strengthen law and order in the region.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh visited multiple Ganesh pandals in Rajnandgaon, offering prayers, distributing prasadam, and encouraging committees, while devotees welcomed him with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh paid tribute to Mamta-Mayee Minimata, recalling her lifelong struggle against social evils and her pioneering role as the first woman MP from Madhya Pradesh in 1952. Speaking at the Mamta-Mayee Minimata Nirvan Diwas, held at Guru Ghasidas Cultural Hall, Dr. Singh administered the oath to newly elected office-bearers of the District Satnami Seva Samiti and announced ₹10 lakh for development works. He lauded Minimata’s work for women’s freedom, education, and progress, her efforts to eradicate untouchability, and her promotion of Guru Ghasidas’s message of equality. The event also honored meritorious students and saw the participation of MLAs, former legislators, and a large gathering from the Satnami community.

During his visit to Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh planted a bael tree under the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign at Lalbagh Garden. He urged citizens to contribute towards making the city a national model of cleanliness in the coming year.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will lead the foundation-laying ceremony for urban development projects worth ₹23.44 crore in Rajnandgaon. The event will also feature the inauguration of a fish aquarium and mark the launch of several infrastructure projects, including a modern Nalanda Complex for students.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh on Sunday commended Rajnandgaon district’s ongoing water conservation efforts under Mission Jal Raksha, highlighting innovative groundwater recharge structures that utilize highway runoff to combat water scarcity and revive dry aquifers.
