Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav has directed officials to speed up paddy procurement while ensuring strict physical verification and action against middlemen, stressing transparency and farmer-friendly operations at procurement centres.

The Agriculture Department has released a detailed advisory for wheat farmers in Rajnandgaon, recommending seed treatment, timely irrigation, pest control sprays and targeted weed management practices to protect crops from termites, stem borers and invasive weeds, and to ensure better yields.

Farmers in Rajnandgaon district have time till December 31 to insure their Rabi crops under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for the 2025–26 season. The Agriculture Department has appealed to cultivators to avail the scheme to safeguard against losses caused by untimely rainfall and other natural calamities.

Acting on complaints of fertilizer black marketing, the district administration conducted raids at two retail shops in Chhuriya and Rajnandgaon blocks, recovering large quantities of urea and other fertilizers being sold illegally at inflated prices. FIRs have been filed under the Essential Commodities Act.
