A total of 12 long-term tenant families in Rajnandgaon were allotted permanent homes under the ‘Mor Makan Mor Aas’ scheme through a lottery conducted by the Municipal Corporation. With this, 229 families have now secured housing under the initiative, which aims to provide affordable homes to eligible urban households.
The Chhattisgarh Housing Board will soon launch an affordable housing project in Mading Piding, Mohla district, under the Atal Vihar Yojana. Independent MIG, LIG, and EWS units along with shops will be built, with prices starting from ₹10.35 lakh.
Under the 'Mor Makan Mor Aas' scheme, 21 families were allotted low-cost homes via a lottery draw in Rajnandgaon, bringing the total number of families benefitting from the scheme to 188.
Under the ‘Mor Makan Mor Aas’ initiative, a component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), long-term tenants in Rajnandgaon are now being offered their own permanent homes at affordable, government-determined rates. With 1,282 multi-storey houses fully constructed in areas like Lakhouli, Pendri, Mohara, and Rewadeeh, and another 648 units under various stages of construction, the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation is set to conduct a lottery on 15 May 2025 to allocate these homes.
In a heartwarming testament to the success of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Chhowaram Sahu, a resident of Raveli village in Rajnandgaon district, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after receiving a newly constructed pucca house. During a local visit, District Panchayat member Dev Kumari Sahu discovered the home and praised the initiative that continues to transform lives across rural India.
