What began with a discarded piece of paper in an office dustbin has today become a symbol of determination, entrepreneurship and women empowerment. Anjana Uraon of Tolga village in Baikunthpur block, Koriya district, has scripted an extraordinary success story by establishing a fly ash brick manufacturing unit under the Prime Minister’s self-employment scheme. Battling financial constraints, social scepticism and repeated loan rejections, Anjana’s unwavering resolve—supported by her husband—has turned her modest life into a thriving enterprise, proving that opportunities often emerge from the most unexpected places.

The Aanchal Cluster Organization, Khadgaon, held its annual general meeting with over 1,000 women participants, highlighting the achievements of self-help groups and setting new goals for economic and social empowerment in the Manpur region.

As part of the Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee Festival, women Self-Help Groups under the Bihan Mission showcased a wide range of locally made products at a sales-cum-exhibition in Rajnandgaon. The event recorded sales of ₹88,200, reflecting the success of women’s entrepreneurship and rural development initiatives in the state.
