Farmers showed keen interest in alternative crops such as pulses and oilseeds. Organic products prepared by women self-help groups were also showcased and widely appreciated.

As groundwater levels decline in Rajnandgaon, the district administration is promoting low water-intensive Rabi crops to conserve water and safeguard farmer livelihoods. The initiative, supported by government departments, private companies and community groups, aims to shift farmers away from high-water crops like summer paddy toward maize, pulses and oilseeds.
