A one-day “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign in Kutulbodh-Bhatagaon village engaged residents, women’s groups, and students in cleaning drives, waste management activities, plantation, and awareness rallies, emphasizing collective action for a cleaner and healthier village.
During her visit to Rajnandgaon, Principal Secretary Niharika Barik Singh reviewed women-led livelihood projects including a chickpea processing unit, herbal gulal packaging centre, and e-rickshaw distribution. She praised the efforts of SHG women under NRLM, noting their significant role in rural entrepreneurship and income generation.
Principal Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Niharika Barik Singh reviewed sanitation and water conservation initiatives in Rajnandgaon, praising the district’s efforts under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural). She also planted a sapling under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign during her inspection visit.
The Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan-2025 began in Rajnandgaon on September 17 under the theme “Swachhotsav,” continuing until Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. With cleanliness drives, shramdaan, and eco-friendly initiatives, the campaign aims to raise awareness and strengthen public participation in building a cleaner, greener district.
Collector Dr. S.N. Bhure visited the forest villages of Khobha, Job, and Pandrapani in Chhuriya block to assess implementation of rural schemes. From housing and health to education and sanitation, he issued on-spot directives to improve services in these remote areas.
In a weekly review meeting, Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure directed all departmental officials to ensure the effective implementation of government schemes and 100% adoption of e-Office for all file-related work. He emphasized improving the district’s performance on the Atal Monitoring Portal and speeding up rural sanitation surveys under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Strict instructions were given for timely data entry on various portals and for adherence to GEM procurement guidelines.
In a significant push towards rural sanitation and sustainable waste management, a district-level meeting of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) was held under the chairmanship of Collector Mrs. Tulika Prajapati at the Collectorate conference hall in Mohla, district Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki. The meeting focused on planning for FY 2025-26, with directives issued for water provisioning in community toilets and waste management units, development of model gram panchayats, plastic waste management, and awareness campaigns.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of District Panchayat, Ms. Suruchi Singh, conducted a detailed review of the ongoing Su-ashasan Tihar and the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) - Rural, through video conferencing. During the meeting, she provided essential directions to relevant officials on completing surveys and applications for various welfare schemes. Additionally, she emphasized improving water conservation efforts, particularly the recharge shafts, and the integration of women into the Sangam Abhiyan under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. A special focus was placed on ensuring timely completion of all ongoing projects, including the Swachh Bharat Mission initiatives.
