Thousands of teachers from across Chhattisgarh rallied at Raipur’s Tuta Maidan on May 28 to protest the government’s controversial rationalization policy and demand key service-related reforms. The demonstration, organized by Shikshak Sanyukt Morcha, escalated into a confrontation with police during a march towards the state secretariat. With government talks yielding no resolution, protest leaders have declared an indefinite statewide strike beginning May 31.
