As part of Chhattisgarh’s silver jubilee celebrations, the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation organized a vibrant Chhattisgarhi Cuisine Festival at Chowpatty. Mayor Madhusudan Yadav inaugurated the event, where women’s self-help groups showcased traditional dishes and local products, highlighting the state’s rich culinary heritage.

Rajnandgaon turned festive on August 23 as Mayor and former MP Madhusudan Yadav’s birthday was celebrated as Madhu Mahotsav. From health camps and temple visits to celebrating with elderly and differently-abled citizens, the day reflected the Mayor’s connect with people as thousands gathered to offer greetings.

In a heartfelt gesture of patriotism and gratitude, the BJP Mahila Morcha from Rajnandgaon sent 7,000 rakhis to India’s armed forces under the nationwide 'Operation Sipahi Raksha Sutra' campaign. The initiative aims to connect civilians emotionally with soldiers guarding the nation’s borders, with a target of distributing 21 lakh rakhis to defense personnel across the country.

In the vibrant spirit of Saawan, the women of Ward 36 in Lakholi came together for the grand ‘Saawan Sundari’ celebration, jointly organized by the South BJP Mandal Mahila Group and Nari Kalyan Self-Help Group. Adorned in traditional attire and solah shringar, participants showcased their cultural finesse through various competitions. Former MP Abhishek Singh, who graced the event as chief guest, lauded the women’s enthusiasm and called them symbols of empowerment and heritage.

Under the directive of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, a vibrant "Purple Fair" was organized at CRC Centre, Thakurtola, to empower and uplift persons with disabilities (PwDs). Former MP Abhishek Singh, the chief guest, praised the inclusive initiative that provided a platform for PwDs to showcase their talent, access skill development opportunities, and receive assistive devices like wheelchairs, hearing aids, and tricycles. Cultural events, employment stalls, science exhibitions, and a taste of traditional Chhattisgarhi cuisine added charm to the event.

A blood donation and health check-up camp was held at Pandit Kishorilal Shukla Horticulture College in Rajnandgaon to honor the memory of SP Vinod Kumar Chaube and 29 jawans martyred in the 2009 Madanwada-Korkotti Naxal attack. Locals, students, and officials came together in a powerful tribute, combining remembrance with community service and health awareness.

Rajnandgaon, June 5, 2025: Commemorating World Environment Day, the Indian Dental Association (IDA) Rajnandgaon branch organized a tree plantation drive at Thakur Pyarelal School. Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, alongside local dignitaries and enthusiastic dental professionals, stressed the importance of collective responsibility in creating a greener and healthier society.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will lead the foundation-laying ceremony for urban development projects worth ₹23.44 crore in Rajnandgaon. The event will also feature the inauguration of a fish aquarium and mark the launch of several infrastructure projects, including a modern Nalanda Complex for students.

Assistant Engineer Kamna Singh Yadav was given an emotional farewell by the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation as he retired upon reaching the age of superannuation. Senior officials including the Commissioner and Executive Engineers praised his dedicated service and contributions, particularly in ward delimitation projects.

As part of the ongoing Poshan Pakhwada 2025, young children at the Anganwadi center in Kaurinbhatha, Rajnandgaon, enjoyed a joyful day filled with songs, colorful food art, and vital lessons on nutrition. Running from April 8 to April 22, the campaign aims to raise awareness about balanced diets, healthy lifestyles, and the importance of early childhood nutrition.

Zila Panchayat President Kiran Ravindra Vaishnav, speaking at a Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti celebration in Karethi village, emphasized that Ambedkar’s principles remain key to building a self-reliant and developed India. She praised the Modi government for preserving his legacy and urged the youth to draw inspiration from his life.
