Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav chaired a review meeting of construction agencies on Friday, directing officials to immediately commence approved projects and ensure quality completion within stipulated timelines, while warning contractors of strict action for delays.

During the ordinary meeting of the Zila Panchayat held at the district headquarters, Chairperson Kiran Ravindra Vaishnav issued firm directives to departmental officials for the prompt repair and tendering of several long-pending and dilapidated roads across the district. The meeting also saw detailed discussions on stalled infrastructure projects, deteriorating school buildings, and the urgent need for sanitation improvements in rural schools.

Despite being the constituency of former Chief Minister and current Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, road conditions in several parts of Rajnandgaon remain severely neglected. The Raveli–Torankatta road has turned into a nightmare for commuters due to large, dangerous potholes. Other key routes like Singhola–Bhothipar Khurd and Usribod–Shivnath River access roads are in a similarly dilapidated state, prompting growing anger among locals and repeated demands for reconstruction.
